  • Discovered they sold her $120 worth of “install and optimization packages” on top of the $300 “protection plan”
  • Unsuccessfully argued they should return her money
  • Successfully argued that they should do better than telling her “it’s not a hardware problem, we can’t fix it.”
    • Best Buy agreed to provide a free hard-drive and software install if we could find the restore discs
• Decided we didn’t need the restore discs and slipstreamed SP2 onto my existing XP disc, used that to re-install Windows
